Criminal Records

The Pennsylvania State Police provides two methods for requesting criminal records. Interested parties can obtain records via the department's web-based platform PATCH (Pennsylvania Access or Criminal History) or by submitting a request form. Completed forms must be sent with a money order for the applicable fee to the:

The department charges $22.00 for a standard record requests and an additional $5.00 for notarized copies.

Who Can Obtain a Public Police Report?

Records may be exempted for release if it jeopardizes an individual's right to privacy. Records may also be exempted for if they:

  • Include information that may deprive a person of a fair trial or disclose investigation techniques
  • Include information that may endanger the safety of a person or witness
  • Identify juvenile information
  • Include confidential information
  • Identify victim information

How to Find Inmate Information

Records of persons held in county jails can be obtained by contacting the Delaware County Sheriff's office at 201 W Front St, Media, PA 19063, USA. The Pennsylvania Department of Correction (DOC) also maintains an online locator tool that members of the public can use to access information on inmates currently held in correctional facilities. The tool offers different search criteria, including inmate number race, date of birth and the subject's full name. Results can be sorted by name, location and date of birth among others.

How to Find Information on Registered Sex Offenders

The Pennsylvania State Police maintains a record of registered sexual offender's residing in Pittsburg and other parts of the state. It also provides an online platform that the public can use to search for offenders by name or location. Search results provide the employment addresses of individuals registered in the state as well as the location of individuals who are currently still being held in correctional inmate facilities. In addition, the department provides an index of non-compliant offenders that can be sorted by name or offense type.

How to Find Court Records

The Delaware County Court of Common Pleas has general jurisdiction over criminal and civil cases. It provides online access to civil case records via its C-Track platform. Requesters can search for case records by case number, search for docket entry records, or civil judgment records. Searches can be based on case information, case type, or the names of the parties involved. Vital Records

Interested parties can obtain vital records at the county level. Records may also be available at the vital statistics office of some cities. To obtain a record, applicants may be required to provide a valid form of identification, verifying their name and mailing address, such as a driver's license.

How to Obtain Divorce Records

Residents of Delaware County can obtain copies of a divorce decree at the Office of Judicial Support. The office maintains a public access platform that members of the public can use to search for cases and their respective docket number. Access to divorce files is restricted to only the spouses and attorney on record. Requests should be sent to:

How to Obtain Birth/Death Records

The Pennsylvania Department of Health manages records of births and deaths in Delaware County and other parts of the state from 1906 till present. Certified copies are issued to only the registrant, immediate family member or legal representative. Interested parties can obtain records in person at any branch office. Requesters can also access records via mail by submitting a completed application form to the:

How to Obtain Marriage Records

The Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans' Court Division for Delaware County maintains the records of all marriage licenses issued in its jurisdiction. Residents can obtain records in person by visiting the office at:

Marriage records can also be ordered by mailing a request to the records department. Requests must include the appropriate fee, name of the spouses (at the time of marriage) and the date of the marriage. The department charges $2.00 for a plain copy, $25.00 for a certified copy, and $30.00 for an exemplified copy.

How to Lookup Delaware County Property Records

The Delaware County Recorder of Deeds is the main repository for the county’s property records. It manages and preserves real property-related documents and furnishes them to requesters who inquire in-person or online through the Recorder's Public Access System.

Interested persons can also lookup property information through the Assessor's office which manages and disseminates property ownership information through the Delaware County Real Estate and Tax Records System. To conduct a Delaware County Property Search, with the system, the user will need to enter the parcel ID, street address, or use advanced search options.
